There are more than 200 lean concepts, tools & techniques available and many new tools are added each year. It would be a challenge & confusing many times for managers / supervisors / Lean practitioners / company executives on how to start lean journey, what tools & techniques are appropriate for various situations in a fast-moving world of operations & services. Given the increasing pressure on efficiency improvement & financial results with not much time to research, many will take short cut in implementing inappropriate tools that may end of either less than optimum result or as in many cases, may conflict with the goals & objective set.
